The RCMS Music Boosters exist to do several things. Some of them are...
- Raise funds to assist RCMS Music Students financially for summer music camps, private instrumental or vocal study through out the year.
- Organize parents to help with Music Department events such as festivals, Concerts and Contests held through out the school year.
- Assist the Music Directors as needed in the matters of helping students in the RCMS music program.
GETTING INVOLVED
Being involved in your child's Music Education not only helps your individual child's needs but also other student participants as well. The best way to accomplish this is to become a Booster Parent. Many committees are set up through the Music Boosters to assist with, but not limited to, raising funds for the Music Department, hosting school music events, and helping with the up keep and dispersal of ensemble uniforms.
Meetings are held once a month through out the school year and are a great way for parents to meet other parents who also have a vested interest in their child's musical study. Music Booster meetings are also a chance to bring up new ideas for the future, share ideas on past Booster sponsored events, and sometimes most importantly, a place for parents to be involved in their child's education in a more social climate. Yes, laughing is allowed!
So, you think you would like to help? The best time would be at our monthly RCMS Music Booster Meetings. Each meeting is on the first Thursday of the month beginning at 6:15 PM in the RCMS Teacher's Lounge. Meetings usually last an hour although sometimes can go longer if there are major events coming up.
